VANIER COLLEGE CLOSED:
The Quebec government announced that the closure of all educational institutions is extended to May 1st.
This means that Vanier College is closed until May 1st.

Vanier ITSS - Remote Support
Vanier College IT Support Services offering Urgent or Immediate remote support for teachers.
This is web-based video conferencing tool with a local, desktop client and
a mobile app that allows users to meet online, with or without video.

VPN Client
VPN, or Virtual Private Network, allows you to connect to the Vanier network from outside the College, including your personal P: drive and your department O: drive.
Setup VPN Connection
Problem: The O: / P: Drive is missing/doesn’t open.
Solution: You will have to map the network drive manually again.
If the O: or P: drive is visible, but simply does not open, right click on the drive from the file explorer and select “Disconnect“, then follow the steps below to map the drive again.

Email Setup
As a Vanier employee, you have access to your Exchange email account. In additional to accessing it from any web browser utilizing the OWA (Outlook Web Access), you can also connect with Microsoft Outlook on your PC, Apple Mail on your Mac, or setup your iOS device (iPod Touch, iPad, or iPhone) or Android device to access mail.

Adobe Creative Cloud
Adobe Creative Cloud – Access to: Acrobat, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, InDesign, and more
Creative Cloud is the suite of creative and productivity software from Adobe, primarily for graphic, document, and web design; publishing; photography; videography; and audio recording.
To get started, go to Adobe Creative Cloud and login using your student number (eg: 1234567) @edu.vaniercollege.qc.ca and using your omnivox password

AutoDesk
AutoDesk – Access to: AutoCAD, Revit, Maya, 3ds Max, Fusion 360, and more
Before you begin, note that AutoDesk provides its software free for educational use, however under this license, you are not permitted to engage in for-profit or commercial use with it. You will need to purchase licenses for the requisite software in order to use it for anything other than educational purposes. This license provides you with the software for a three-year period.
To get started, go to autodesk.com/education/free-software and choose either College & University students or educators.
If you haven’t downloaded from AutoDesk for Education before, click on Create Account, and proceed to create one using your college email account (either @vaniercollege.qc.ca for employees, or @edu.vaniercollege.qc.ca for students). Follow the prompts, and verify the account using the email
Minitab 19 Installation Instructions (Windows or macOS X)
Minitab 19 Installation Instructions (Windows)
Before you begin, if Minitab 19 is already installed, uninstall Minitab 19 using the steps below:
– Right-click Start > Apps and Features. Browse to Minitab 19 and click Uninstall
1. Copy the license file to your desktop. Download Minitab license file
2. Download the Minitab 19 installation package. (Select the Correct version based on your operating system.)

3. Begin the installation
4. When prompted, select “Activate with a license” and click “Next”.
5. From the “Select a licensing method” window, select “File”
6. Click “Browse” and browse to the license file that was saved in step #1 and click “Next”.
7. Click “Install” and complete the installation.
After the installation is complete and you confirm that Minitab launches without error, the license file (Minitab.lic) can be deleted from the Desktop.
Minitab 19 Installation Instructions (Mac)
Before you begin, if Minitab 19 is already installed, uninstall Minitab 19 by dragging the Minitab icon from the applications folder to the trash and reboot the computer.

After the installation is complete and you confirm that Minitab launches without error, the license file (Minitab.lic) can be deleted from the Desktop.

Updating your college laptop password after a password change
Step 1: turn on laptop
Step 2: login with old password
Step 3: activate VPN
Step 4: lock the session with Ctrl+Alt+Del and click lock (do not disconnect VPN, do not log off)
Step 5: log back in using new password
